Move more, feel better

Why the wardrobe you reach for shapes how often you actually move — and how to remove the friction between the two.

The distance between intending to move and moving is mostly friction, and a surprising amount of that friction is logistical. Finding the thing. Changing into the thing. Knowing you will have to change out of it again before you can do anything else with your day.

Removing one of those steps changes the arithmetic more than motivation ever does. If what you are already wearing is what you would train in, the session becomes a decision about the next thirty minutes rather than the next two hours.

This is not an argument for wearing gym clothes everywhere. It is an argument for owning a small number of pieces that are genuinely good at both, so that the choice is never between looking like you are going somewhere and being able to move.

The women who train most consistently, in our experience, are not the most disciplined. They are the ones who removed the most steps.
